Item damaged thru eBay International Shipping program
Does anyone have any suggestions about dealing with items damaged during shipment through eBay International Shipping program to France from US? I cannot seem to speak with a real person at eBay about this complex issue despite multiple frustrating attempts through eBay help contacts. Help please!

Ask the buyer to open a return request. The international shipping program handles the returns - they refund the buyer, you keep your sale, they recover what they can from the item.

OP10 months agoGreat advice. This is what was done and both the customer and I were satisfied with the eventual result. Although he did not receive compensation for the damaged item (that he preferred to keep) he at least received a full refund and I kept the payment for the damaged item. Not certain where it went after all that but ebay must part it out. Thanks for the input nearly a year ago.
