Mentor2 years ago@patycat You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
The seller is responsible for the item arriving safely and on time. Postal insurance is for the seller. eBay shipping comes with $100 insurance unless the seller paid extra, that is the sellers problem to deal with. Since they are not cooperating I recommend that you just file a not as described return request.
Seller pays return shipping if they want the sewing machine back and refunds you 100%. Or they can refund you 100% without returning the sewing machine.
Here's what you need to do:
Open a return with the reason Arrived Damaged. You will need to upload a photo in the return request.
Select the return item button on this page:

4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label or a full refund then ask eBay to step in and help: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
