Item came from Amazon with gift receipt

Question

Hello,I ordered an item on eBay and it came in an Amazon box from Amazon with gift receipt. I looked up the item on the gift receipt and the seller was not the same as the eBay seller. It seems like the eBay seller took my order on eBay and bought the item from Amazon at a cheaper price and sent it to me as a gift. This seems like a scam to me. I am extra annoyed because I boycott Amazon.
