Item Broken in Transit, Buyer Refused Delivery and Is Now Asking For a Refund
I sold an item to a buyer and shipped it via UPS. The item arrived broken so the buyer refused delivery. I have confirmed this via the UPS tracking number. The buyer has messaged me asking about how to get refunded for the broken item.
I'm at a loss at what to do. Is UPS going to ship the broken item back to me (and charge me for it)? I know I need to open a delivery claim with them but they would want picture of the damage so its a bit of a catch-22.
On the buyer side, I have no issues refunding them but want to ensure that I'm not hung out to dry on this with the shipping.

Mentor2 years agoYou may or may not be able to get an insurance reimbursement as the buyer refused delivery, but when the item comes back, you can issue a refund using the Send refund option in the dropdown next to the transaction in your Orders list.
