Item broke during shipping
I sold ceramic coffee Canister and it arrived to the buyer broken. The buyer wants a full refund. I have not been issued the funds yet. What is my next step with the buyer, and will t post office pay for the damaged item?

Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier if it was insured.

·3 years agoYou need to refund the buyer even if you have not been issued the funds. You may need to provide a payment method. After the refund, your funds on hold will be released to you. Crazy, but that's how it works.
If your package was insured, you can file a claim with USPS online at usps.com. They may or may not pay you. They also may want to examine the package and item, so you need to ask the buyer to hold onto them. It is very common for them to deny claims because the item was not properly packaged.
