Item arrived damaged to buyer.

Question

Item arrived damaged and transit to buy. They want their money back obviously. Are they supposed to deal with USPS or am I as the seller supposed to deal with USPS to get money back for something damaged during transit

Any insurance claim on the package is the sellers responsibility. Buyers have the eBay Money Back Guaranty for their protection. You will need to have the buyer send you photos of the item and its packaging including the label. Then you need to fully refund the buyer and have them hold the item and packaging for instructions from the USPS who will want to examine these items. There is never a guaranty that the USPS (or any other carrier) will agree to the insurance claim but this is not the buyers concern.
