-Sellers: it is their responsibility to pack securely for shipment and insure the shipment in the event of loss or damage. If an insurance claim is pursued by the Seller the Buyer may have to keep the item and the original box and present it to their local Post Office for inspection if USPS was the carrier.
-Buyers can return an item REGARDLESS of a Seller's return policy using the reason arrived damaged. Seller would pay for the return shipping or have the option to simply Refund the Buyer.
-Sellers should always ask for pictures of the damaged item and box with label that the item was shipped in.

Mentor1 year agoThe seller is always responsible for any damage during delivery. The seller must fully refund the buyer and then they can try to claim any insurance from the shipping carrier. Keep in mind that in order to claim insurance the buyer must keep the item and the packaging for the shipping carrier to inspect prior to making an insurance determination.
The only exception is if the seller shipped using the eBay International Shipping program. Then the seller is only responsible until it reaches the EIS hub and eBay would handle any damage during the International shipping.
