Ebay wants me to return it. Why do I have to go through all the hassle of returning a broken item. The seller wrapped the item in bubble wrap and she wrote fragile on the box. I've had several pieces sent to me in the meantime and they all made it without being broken. The one thing that I noticed in packing a fragile piece is to put it in a bigger box with plenty of bubble wrap or some other type of stuffing so if the box is dropped there's room for the item to be cushioned so the fall can't break it. That's what other buyers did and they all came safely. I'm supposed to except all of this and put a match to the money I spent. I see that the seller is now implying of something suspicious going on. There's nothing going on!! I'm just asking for a refund because my beautiful statue that I bought in good faith came broken. I sent plenty of pictures and there is no way she can be fixed.

Seems silly to spend the money to return it, but it is up to the seller - she is paying the return shipping. eBay cannot force the seller to refund without return.
If the seller is suspicious, there is nothing you can say that will make her less so, so I would return the item.
Have you opened a return request? If not, do that now -
Go to your purchase history - select 'return this item' , select 'does not match description' and follow the prompts. Enter damaged item received in the comments.
The seller has 3 business days to provide a return shipping label, or a refund. If he doesn't, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
