item arrived broken
I shipped a small carousel horse through usps advantage. I packed it very well in a box with several layers of bubble wrap and then placed that closed box in larger box with packing to protect it. It arrived broken. .
I know I will refund the person as it arrived broken but is there any protection for me from USPS as the package must have been handled roughly.

Mentor2 years agoYou can file a claim at usps.com - ground advantage includes $100 of insurance. Ask the buyer for photos of the item and the box.
Also ask him to keep the item and the box until you hear about the claim - he may need to take it to his PO for inspection.
If you want the item returned, ask the buyer to open a return request so you can have eBay issue a return label. Ask the buyer to print the label, but hold the package for inspection. Then use the ‘refund buyer now’ option - your buyer does not have to wait for the claim - it reimburses you.
