Item Arrived Broken
Buyer received item and it broke in transit, pictures sent to confirm. As the seller, I don't want the broken item back, but can I file a claim with USPS? As a seller, do I get reimbursed if I refund the money to buyer for broken item? I cannot find any information on the site for broken not returned items.

Mentor2 years ago@gracey922 You ask the buyer for pictures of the box the item and the packing material. You use those photos to file your insurance claim on the USPS site. Ask the buyer to hold on to ALL items as the postal carrier may want to see them. Not all buyers will do this for you and they are not required to by eBay. Hope you have a helpful buyer.
You do need to issue the refund to the buyer then you wait for the insurance payout if any.

OP2 years agoI went to the USPS site and typed in the shipping # and the web site said it was not eligible for a claim. I thought all Ebay items received a guarantee if I purchased the label from Ebay for shipping.
And, thank you for your response! I've been pretty frustrated trying to find answers on Ebay.

Mentor2 years agoWhat method of shipping did you use? Ground Advantage and Priority comes with $100 of insurance, so those claims of damage are filed with USPS. If you used another method of shipping, did you pay extra for insurance?
