Issuing a Refund
I am Trying to initiate a refund. When I select 'Send Refund' for the specific order in the drop down menu of the order and begin to type in the amount the 'review refund' button becomes greyed out and I am unable to proceed. Any suggestions?

OP3 years agoThank you! I adjusted some payment methods and now link to review refund stays active. However when I select 'Buyer Return' ( buyer has the item and I am letting them keep it) the calculate refund amount is populated with what I presume to be the full amount they paid stating 22.05. This makes sense because in the sold items description it says item sold for 9.50 and 'buyer paid 12.55...22.05. Then I enter 22.05 in the "refund amount" and click 'review refund.' The next screen will allow me to 'send refund' but deducts 3.48 for fees and credits allowing me to refund only 3.48. I don't understand and want to make the buyer whole. What's happening?

Mentor3 years agoeBay deducts the fees from your portion of the refund because they refund that amount to the buyer. That's how you get your fee credit.

Mentor3 years agoWhen you refund you must front the cost until the buyer's payment clears. You may not have enough funds in your account, so you need to add an alternative payment method, like a credit card or bank account.
If you are also going to cancel the transaction, do that instead of refunding directly, which also will refund.
