Issues with dropped seller level due to false transaction defect rate
Summary: barreras-family is experiencing a sudden drop in their seller status on eBay, which prevents them from promoting listings. They attribute this to a transaction defect caused by a destroyed item, despite having a police report for the incident. They also mention issues with late shipments due to postal service errors. They have tried protesting these defects but have struggled to contact customer support for resolution.
I do not know how to resolve this. I have been on ebay for 26 years with a very good rating for years.
All of a sudden I noticed I could not promote listings.
I went digging into my dashboard and I have one too many transaction defects.
I also had a handful of incorrect late shipment issues, but I protested those. On occasion on mail sub day, they will not pick up my packages or anyone elses for that matter OR they will not scan the packages.
One of my transaction defects could easily be removed. It was a case where I put an item out for the mail and some local teens decided to destroy it. There was even a police report on it. I made the mistake of going in and marking the item as no longer available to ship, because it was not and it was destroyed before postal service could scan. Now I am getting dinged for that and it is pushing me over the edge of good seller status.
I cannot seem to get ahold of a live person or a way to contact ebay to protest this. It is so strange because I know this seller status is evaluated monthly, but nothing at all has changed in the last 90 days. Nothing at all, but all of a sudden my seller status is way low and I can't promote anything, but I could 2-3 days ago. This crazy episode of destroyed property was more than 90 days ago.
Help!

OP2 weeks agoI also protested some late deliveries and hope they will remove those. I think part of the problem is I had not done as much on ebay the last 90 days - life happens in seasons - and I know this affects things. But, I consistently ship on time with fab ratings. Occasionally my mail service is stupid and don't scan or quite literally just don't show up that day. I know because all the neighbors protest online on those days and my bright pink packages are still on the mailbox waiting and I have to bring them in so they won't be stolen.

This is the item # that should not be on my false transaction list that was destroyed by some juveniles.

Mentor2 weeks agoI'm sorry, but eBay holds you responsible for missed shipments, late shipments and cancelled orders even if you think you have a good excuse.
This is too late for you, but if you can't depend on your carrier picking up packages, you need to take them to the carrier yourself. Another option is to change your handling time to -2-3 days so that you don't incur late shipments if a pick up is missed.
eBay is pretty firm on their seller standards. They don't want sellers shipping late or cancelling orders.
