Is this suspicious message legit?

I just received a suspicious message through ebay notifications. It claims to be from ebay, and states "Our systems have identified that some information on our platform requires your attention as part of our updated security procedures." The sender is named " e_b_a_y_h55 ". There is a link to verify something. Does this sound legitimate?

No, it is a scam. eBay does not send messages from user accounts with links to verify anything. That is something that scammers often do.

eBay recently shut down the community message feature for several days to prevent such messages, but apparently turning the feature back on allows the old scam messages with the scam link to be seen once again, even though new messages with links should be blocked now.

@mister_stuff SCAM! An eBay message will never have a user ID. Click on the 3 dots on the upper right of the message to report it. Also add the scammer to your blocked buyer list.
