Is this an invalid bid retraction?

Longtime listener, first time caller lol

Anyway, I have an item up for sale, potential buyer puts in a bid, but then retracts the bid a few hrs later, saying I revised the description.

The only revision I made was lowering the opening bid, but I did that the day BEFORE the bidder actually put their bid in.

So, Question: I believe its an improper bid retraction, that the guy just didn't read the description in the first place... What's the proper number of ninjas I should have sent to his house?

Yes, that is a policy violation (and possibly wire fraud), but unfortunately eBay has done little to nothing (and I'm being generous with the "little to") to enforce that rule for the last decade or so.
