Is this a buyer scam?
I have listed an item twice for auction. First, the time buyer made a bid, and I accepted. Then they asked me to contact them via text because he was a military man going to work. If I can't text him, cancel the order on my end. I canceled the order. I re-listed the same item. I got another bid which looked like a different buyer. Again I got another message to provide my phone number so they could text me a question they had. I replied that I would abide by eBay policy and not provide my info to cancel the order on their side. It has been a few days, and no payment or cancelation. When I click on the user name, it comes up with good reviews, but from over a year ago. In my messages, when I click on the user name, it says account not found. I have emailed eBay asking if these two buyers could be blocked from bidding on my items. I am a newer seller on here and want to avoid re-listing my item, thinking if I get a bid, will it be legit? Any feedback on how to proceed will be appreciated.
Thank you

Mentor3 years agoYou can block buyers here:

When you receive messages like that, don't even bother responding. On day 5, cancel the transaction using the reason that the buyer didn't pay.
As a new seller, you are a scammer magnet. To avoid this problem, consider listing as fixed price (no auctions, no best offers) and turn on the requirement for Immediate Payment in the listing form. That way, the item isn't sold until paid for.
