Is there some reason my gift card will not work when I try to pay for something?
I got a gift card and tried to use it, but I keep getting an error message. Is there some issue with paying that way?

OP2 years ago(Solved) Ok, for some reason, I couldn't pay for an entire order with a gift card, so I picked another item that was more expensive than what I had on the card and paid for the rest with another source and it went through.

Was it an eBay gift card? What kind of item, and what did the error message say, exactly?

OP2 years agoIts is an Ebay card and the item is a Sirius XM Home Kit. I also tried it on other items and the same thing happened.

There are limits to the number and amount of gift card purchases per transaction, per day or per month.

Unfortunately that is just a generic error message when a payment cannot be made for almost any reason, so it does not really narrow things down.
Have you checked the balance on the eBay gift card?

It can take up to four hours from purchase for a gift card to activation to go through and allow the card to be used.

OP2 years agoI did check and there is enough money. It has been long past 4 hours as well, so I don't know what's going on.
