Is there any recourse if a seller posts false or misleading descriptions of what they are selling?
I purchased 2 Hard drives that are advertised with a photo with a hard drive dated 10/2023. The condition is described as "Excellent - refurbished. The item is in like-new condition." What I received was one hard drive dated 3/2021 (17 months older than the photo) and another dated 10/2020 (nearly 3 years older than the photo).
I contacted the seller and they admit that there is a discrepancy. And the best they can do is send another hard drive dated from 2021 to replace the hard drive from 2020. They won't grant a discount for their misleading photo and item description.
It seems that reporting fraud isn't in the ebay help options.
Do you think the seller is committing fraud or am I overreacting? Do I have a case to bring to ebay to try to get a discount?

-eBay will not get involved in negotiations between Buyers and Sellers.
-Your best option is to file a return using the reason "does not match pictures or description", you will get a pre-paid shipping label and the Seller will have 2 days to refund you once they get the item back. Failing that you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.
