Is there a contract or not?
Ebay claims that by agreeing to buy something, that that is a meeting of the minds and a contract. After an item has been bought by the buyer transferring funds to the seller. the item becomes the property of the buyer, not the seller. Why does Ebay allow sellers to unilaterally cancel the contract and leave the owner of the purchased item with no recourse accept to accept that Ebay assigns no value to the buyer's time and effort and property rights. Why is Ebay so anti-buyer?

Mentor2 years agoeBay is not in a position to actually force the seller to ship an item, so that is not an option. eBay can only provide a guarantee that if the buyer does not receive what was advertised, the buyer can get a refund.
Sellers that cancel inappropriately can lose their selling privileges if they make a habit of disappointing their buyers like that. As a result, the more experienced a seller is, the less likely the seller is to cancel a sale against the buyer's wishes -- though even an experienced, well-meaning seller can sometimes lose or break an irreplaceable item before it can be shipped.
