Is the online 'chat' function still available for Ebay help? All I get is a phone call option.
Once I get out of Ebay's AI help function (never helps), I usually get an option to open an online 'chat' or have a phone call made to me to clear up my Ebay problem... but for the last week, the online 'chat' option has disappeared. Can anyone confirm... is it still available ? If yes, how did you reach it ? Joe

Sadly, some ways to be in direct contact with eBay vary based on the subject and support availability, so requesting a call back or using the chat are not available 24/7.
Below are a number of options we share with members.
-Ask your question here if not on the account level, we have no access to accounts here. This forum is supported by volunteer Buyers and Sellers.
We recently learned that many of the links we post to Request a call back are now simply forwarding members to eBay's Customer Service "How can we help you today?" page (link below). On that page members have to complete numerous choices before being given ways to be in direct contact with eBay. Depending on the subject, representative availability and other factors requesting a call back may or may not be possible. Chat or an email may be provided. If you get a Chat box Type “AGENT in the box. You can also contact eBay through Social Media if you have accounts there.

OP8 months agoThank you for the quick reply. The reason for requesting contact with Ebay is to get a refund for Missouri sales tax that was improperly charged to a silver bullion purchase. When prompted for why I'm contacting Ebay, the six or eight options I'm given do not fit my real reason, so I usually choose "Buying or Paying" for an item, and work from there. It's only in the last week that the online 'chat' function seems to have disappeared.
