Gross sales of item price and paid shipping ... the total is less any Sales tax levied on transactions that eBay collected and remitted to states. Your deductions off that would be your out of pocket shipping expenses, refunds, package material, eBay fees & store subscriptions, etc.
Suggest you download an IRS Schedule C and instructions to learn more about what you can deduct for selling purposes ...
