Is "Refurbished" enough to justify undisclosed active "Parts & Service History" warnings in iOS?
Hi everyone,
I bought an iPhone 13 listed as "Very Good - Refurbished". Upon receiving it, iOS Settings shows an active "Parts & Service History" notification regarding replaced components (motherboard, battery, camera).
I know that a "Refurbished" item means it has been previously inspected, repaired, or restored. However, the listing description did not mention any visible active iOS system alerts/warnings about replaced parts.
My questions for the community are:
Is it standard or expected for a "Refurbished" iPhone to come with active repair history warnings in iOS without the seller disclosing it in the description?
Does omitting this visible notification count as "Item Not As Described" under eBay rules, or is it covered under the general "Refurbished" definition?
The seller argues that because it's a refurbished device with genuine parts, they don't need to specify the history in the ad. I feel that active alerts impact the device's resale value, so this should have been disclosed.
Since I am an international buyer and returning the device physically is not financially viable, I would appreciate your thoughts before opening a formal return request.
