Is listing only 1 item ( even though you have more) increase your sales faster?
I was told by another Seller that if I only list 1 item (even though I have more of the same) this would increase my chances of having more sales because the buyer only see that I have 1 left. Has anyone tried this? I thought by having a continuous supplies of the same the buyers would see that I sold quiet a bit and would be able to read reviews or feedback on the item and show this is a popular item. Plus I would not need to keep relisting and use up my Fixed priced listing in my store.
I have try the "Volume pricing" and have had no luck , not many buyers want to purchase the same item in one transaction unless they want to purchase same items for multiple people which rarely happens.
Any suggestions? Does listing only 1 item really increase your sales?

Mentor2 years agoI would list a quantity rather than wait. I have found that when I have a multi-quantity listing and one sells, the others seem to sell quickly too. When something sells, it 'goes to the top', making the others more likely to sell.

OP2 years agoThank you for the suggestion, I never used the "out of stock option" because most times I only have 2 or 3 items . I will read more into it though, thank you 🙂
But do your sales increase more when only 1 item is showing rather than more?

I don't think an item sells faster when only 1 is listed - as @evry1nositswindy described, once 1 sells, the additional quantities sell faster since you gain credibility with the search engine.
You might see the last 1 of x go quickly - that is when you would see the 'only 1 left' label. You never see this when you list only a quantity of 1.

The 'only 1 left' only appears when you have sold all but 1 of the available quantity. If you have multiples of an item, you don't have to list them all at once, but I would list several, at least.
Turn on the out of stock option, so the your listings stay active with 0 available. Then you can increase the quantity again and again using only 1 insertion per month, and the listing builds up sales history. I had some listings that ran for 5 years. Search likes listings that sell.
The out of stock option does apply to all of your items, so if you only have 1 of an item you will need to manually end it.
