Is it possible to create a listing WITH BEST OFFER AND IMMEDIATE PAYMENT when an offer is accepted.
I understand that immediate payment is available when a buyer clicks on a buy-it-now item . and that works great!
BUT Is it possible to create a listing WITH BEST OFFER AND IMMEDIATE PAYMENT when an offer is accepted.

·2 years agoThen: eBay experimented with a version of "Immediate Payment Required" for Best Offer several years ago, where the acceptance of an offer or counteroffer did not immediately remove the item from inventory (i.e. end a single-item listing or reduce the # available in a multiple-item listing) but only did so when the buyer paid (for a single-item listing this meant that the first buyer to pay got the item and any other accepted offers or counteroffers expired). There was almost universal hate expressed from both buyers and sellers (I was one of the few who saw the advantages) so it ended quickly (back when eBay actually listened to users).
Now: eBay has been "experimenting" with requiring pre-authorization of payment for Best Offers for over a year and a half, adding more and more users into the test group required to do so (sellers can opt their listings out of it; buyers cannot opt out once they are assigned). Too many users were making offers and then not paying when it was accepted, and too many of those were scammers who would try to get the seller to text or email them to get their number/email address to send fake payment messages to.
Not sure whether or not they have officially made it permanent yet or it continues "experimentally." They have recently started trying it out on auction bids.

Mentor2 years agoeBay is currently testing requiring a payment method to make an offer or to place a bid, but at the moment these tests only apply to some buyer accounts. So a seller accepting an offer may not be sure that the buyer has provided a payment method unless the offer indicates that.
