Is it permissable for a seller to give only a fraction of the price of the item advertised?
For example, a couch cover is advertised and the given price turns out tp be the price only of one of the couch's cushions.

Was it a listing that had a pull down menu where you made a selection? It is not uncommon for sellers to group similar items in a listing where you pick the item you want. I don’t like the way that you see the lowest price, then when you select what you want the price is a lot higher, but that is the way these listings work.
The title can be deceptive if it suggests the low price is for the more expensive item. This is reportable as search and browse manipulation, if you want to take the time to report. Click report this item, then select listing practices/search and browse manipulation/misleading title.

OP2 years agoThe pull-down menu only listed colour options for the couch (couch cover actually). Nothing about cushions. The price of the item advertised and pictured only comes to light at cart. The price advertised turns out to be the price of the cushion (cover)

I would definitely report that one. Every item has a ‘Report this item’ link on the far right, above the item specifics.

OP2 years agoi can't find any such link in connection with this item and the Ebay complaints web page is not functioning.

Read the description carefully (including the category, title, and item specifics) to see exactly what is being advertised.
