Is it ok with Ebay to contact seller to donate to them
Hello all - I have buy/sell feedback on ebay as far back as 2001 i think - but i haven't been active as a seller since before Covid really. I have a question out of left field - i know it's weird, and i wanted to check with the ebay community first because I don't want to do anything against Ebay rules, nor would i want to cause any trouble for another Ebayer.
I have what would amount to a small box of vintage baby items about 60 years old that my late mom packaged up and put away for a keepsake. I don't want to throw that stuff away or donate to one of the big donation stations. I know this sounds strange, but I'd like to just donate this stuff to an ebay seller who has this kind of stuff in their auctions or store - at no charge (I'll even pay to ship).
I would not be contacting a seller to buy or sell outside ebay - this is simply a donation. The Question is, would ebay allow this? I'm not sure why ebay would not allow or like this, because unless policy has changed, buyers and sellers could always contact each other using phone nums after a transaction, right? So really, I'm just asking to actually send my baby items to a random seller (at no charge to the seller) that I would select so i don't have to chunk the items in the trash. I don't want to keep them, though.

A couple years ago, I had been trying to help a seller that just seem to be on a really streak of bad luck. Then the topper was her husband suddenly died. This poor woman was really just going through it. I did what I could via communicating with her to try and keep her head above water. With the loss of her husband, money became very tight too which just topped it off for this lady.
Well I boxed up a couple boxes of stuff she could sell and shipped them to her. She was so grateful and it really helped to lift her spirits which she certainly needed.
Now the only hiccup I can see for you is you can't share contact information in Ebay email system unless you have a transaction with the seller. That would be a site policy issue. So that is something you need to consider, how you are going to get their info.
I hope you find a really deserving seller that just needs a little helping hand. That would be wonderful.
