Is it helpful to leave a review, even if negative, for other users?
Summary: mk0307long is considering leaving a negative review for an item they purchased but never received, despite receiving a refund after waiting weeks without communication. They are concerned about potential repercussions, such as the seller leaving a negative review in return, and wonder about the process of removing negative reviews.
Is it helpful to leave a negative review for a item purchased that was never received? Item was purchased, paid for , and never received. The item was refunded with the process, but why should the buyer wait weeks with no responses. If leaving a negative review for this item, would the seller then in turn be allowed to leave a negative review on the buyer? Was not an overall good experience as there was zero communication on the item. I'm sure there is a process for removing negative reviews, but just curious.

First: Seller have not been able to leave negative feedback for Buyers for almost 20 years.
When a Buyer is refunded by eBay for an Item Not Received, that creates a defect on the Seller's account. Leaving negative feedback after that, is almost like double jeopardy.
If you are able to leave feedback after your refund request was closed, you could consider a neutral. Such as "Item never received. No communication from Seller".
If you go that route, don't mention being refunded by eBay. That might cause the feedback to be removed.
