Is it a scam?

I have been an active buyer on Ebay over 20 years. This is the first time I may be scammed by a seller. I paid over $50 for a coffee perculator, and the seller put a necktie in the package with the tracking number, and not the perculator. the seller sent me an email saying a "free gift" might arrive first. I coppied the email, and made photos as evidence if the perculator never shows up. Is there any way to send the info. to Ebay directly, and talk to a live person. I believe the perculator will...

Thanks, The feedback was OK, not exceptional, but I finaly got the perculator the next day. The tracking from the Post Office said it was coming from Amazon not Ebay, which caused more confusion, as my wife had ordered a package from Amazon wich was lost in shipment. The vendor caused confusion by shipping the necktie with the perculator tracking number. However everything turned out all right in the end. Thanks for your input. John

If the tracking on the necktie matches the tracking in your Purchase History for the percolator and you are still within thirty days of receiving that necktie, you can file a "not as described" case with eBay. The seller will be required to provide for return shipping for the necktie and refund you when tracking shows delivery back to the seller. If the seller does not cooperate, after three business days you can ask eBay to step in and refund you directly.

What kind of feedback does your seller have for selling?

You can avoid many fake tracking issues by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.
