Is eBay Policing Fake Sellers, Drop Shippers, Scammers, Fake Tracking Numbers and Fake Delivery Pics
I have had more than enough of my share of fake tracking numbers. But the latest scam directs you to a fake picture on a FEDEX or other delivery sites. Upon close examination of the picture, besides the obvious that it is not your address, you can determine the picture is doctored with a fake delivery of the items you purchased. This time, and the last two cases I filed, the seller states, "I shipped the item" or "I shipped the items" which is a flat out LIE! So now they are taking an additional step to continue their scams!!!
I'd like to know, how is eBay policing this activity? My last case was decided against me, even though I did not receive the items, and I had to file with my credit card company for redress.

Mentor9 months agoEbay relies on members to report those kinds of activities. They cannot police the millions of sellers and millions of listings for possible infractions.
Sounds like you were the victim of the fake tracking scam.
If your name and address weren't on the shipping label, ask the postal carrier if they will put this in writing. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps here:
1) Report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases:
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller used a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
2) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
Just send a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you.
