Is EBay condoning the resale of items clearly marked 'not for resale'?
Ebay is allowing the resale of Girl Scout cookies by their sellers. Every single box of Girl Scout cookies is clearly labeled 'not for resale'. How is this, then, not illegal and how, by condoning it, is Ebay not an accomplice to an illegal act?

OP3 years agoSo Ebay is using this questionable policy to get around the idea that they are reselling things that should not be resold? I bet their lawyers are awfully proud of them 😛
I definitely will not EVER do business with Ebay - they are unscrupulous and untrustworthy!

Mentor3 years agoActually, I don't think it is illegal - eBay would remove the items if it was. A legal concept known as the first sale doctrine gives the buyer the right to resell an item he purchases legally, despite the label on the package.
GSUSA can file a complaint with eBay - then they would be removed. While they would lose a lawsuit, most sellers would not take them to court.
