Is a seller reimbursed for a return item he didn't get back

Question

I bought an item and returned it. USPS showed it was delivered to the address on the return label. The seller says he doesn't use that address anymore and he never got the item back. He opened a case, eBay looked at it and found in my favor because it had been delivered. Would the seller have been reimbursed or would he have lost the amount of the item?

@notchyone The answer is unfortunately no the seller will not be reimbursed. Sellers are responsible for making sure that their addresses are all correct.
