IP BANNED - ACCESS DENIED - CANNOT EBAY
My IP address was erroneously banned. When I access ebay.com from my home network I get the typical IP ban message:
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.ebay.com/ " on this server.

I tried talking to ebay phone support but they don't understand what an IP address is and keep telling me to clear cookies or blame a custom firewall or claim I'm logging in to the wrong account. I try to explain that I cannot even get to the login screen and its like talking to a wall. I ask them to transfer me to someone who knows and they ask me for the person's name like I'm supposed to know everyone who works at ebay.
I'm a network admin and know exactly what the issue is: my client IP is banned by the ebay server for erroneous reasons. Any time I've had this issue with other servers I was able to resolve it with an email explaining exactly what the issue is. How can I contact someone who understands terms such as "IP", "client", or"server" at eBay and persuade them to unban me?
Please save the normie troubleshooting tips. I've done it. I know the cause and I know the solution.
Cause: IP BANNED
Solution: Unban IP
How to actuate solution?
PS: I wrote this on a VPN, everything works on VPN. I do not want to use a VPN every time I make a sale or purchase on ebay I just want to browse like normal people.

Mentor3 years agoWell we don't know if it was "erroneously banned" as it doesn't appear you know what reason Ebay decided the problem was.
You should have gotten an email from Ebay on this problem. What did the email say the problem is? This is the place to start. It may also tell you what you need to do to get this problem fixed.
