Inventory
I am just starting on eBay. I am an auctioneer and have lots of inventory. I have already sent someone the wrong item. What is everyone using to help tracking items. As my son says I am a boomer. So my computer skills lacken. Any help will be appreciated

Well, there are numerous ways you can do that but I suggest starting with a manual system where you jot the title of the eBay item on a piece of paper and put it with the item on your inventory shelf.
eBay does have the Custom SKU field on each listing which could be an alphanumeric code you use to identify the item but again, you would have to jot that down and put it with the actual item. The Custom SKU is shown on the sold item.
You can use the Note feature too in a similar fashion to the Custom SKU mentioned above, it too is shown when an item sells but same drill with adding a paper note with the actual item on your inventory shelf.
I have seen some Sellers actually put their reference at the end of the item's title line, the issue there is that the title line can only have 80 characters and custom codes could have a negative impact on eBay Search algorithms.
Below is a screen shot of one of my sold items, I put a red circle around the Customer SKU and Notes I use to reference an item. However, mu notes refer to the master lot that item came from so other listings will have that number.
As an auctioneer, it is not dissimilar to you numbering lots when you run a live or online auction. You need a number on the block and a corresponding number on the actual item.
