Ebay has a 30-day Money Back Guarantee for Buyer Purchase Protection. That Guarantee overrides an individual Seller's return policy.
If the Buyer received an Item that they feel is not as described in the listing, even if that is not true or they altered it, the Seller is required to either accept the return and pay for a return label or issue a full refund.
Once the item is returned, some Sellers are eligible to deduct up to 50% of the refund for loss of value. The Sellers eligible to do that need to be Top Rated and offer returns or Above Standard and offer free returns. Sellers who do not offer returns do not have that option.
Once your Buyer opens the refund request you will have three days to respond. If you do not, on the 4th day the Buyer can ask eBay to step in and force the refund.
It is always in the Seller's best interest to accept the return.
