International Transactions involving 3rd party shipment handling
Argument: I shipped an item to the Glendale Heights location as requested by the buyer, whom is in France. I have received confirmation of the shipment being received at the Glendale location. The package was sent to France via a 3rd party shipper, and the tracking has not been updated in several weeks. The buyer placed a claim on my item due to non-receipt. WHY is this my problem? I shipped the item to the location as requested by the buyer AND eBay! Which was standard Media Mail. WHY is it my responsibility to make sure the item is received by the buyer via their 3rd party shipper, which is also an eBay integrated shipper by the way? I'm getting upset about this quite frankly!!

Mentor2 years ago@top-shelf-vinyl If you shipped with eBay International Shipping Program then EBAY is the one that refunds the buyer. You're only responsible for the item safely reaching the Illinois forwarding hub.
If eBay is asking you to refund then contact customer service and ask why this refund is not covered by the EIS seller protection.
eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.

OP2 years agoThank you so much for the very helpful information! I did exactly what you suggested by contacting eBay, and they called me within 30 seconds and explained everything. I am covered as a seller, but they need to do their due diligence and follow the claims process. But yes, I am in the clear and will not be subjected to negative feedback or any claims against my selling account. WHEW!! I just started selling again, following a 5-year hiatus, and am on track to be Top-Rated, so I was a bit concerned. Thank you again, comics-scifi-collectibles!
