International shipping request
I received a message from a person in Italy wanting to purchase I book I have for sale with free shipping. The potential customer wrote me asking if I could ship to Italy. I responded that my understanding of the international shipping program is that I would pay for the shipping to the eBay international processing center, then the international customer would pay for the shipping from that point to Italy. He responded that there was no amount listed for the cost of shipping and that there was a note instead that "shipping to Italy was not safe" and that the buyer should contact the seller. I cannot see what shows up on his side of the listing, but this does not seem like a message that eBay would include in my listing as the buyer is basically trying to get me to ship direct to him instead of going through the international shipping program.
My first question is does this seem like a scam or is this a note that eBay does include at times in international listings. If it is not a scam, how do I direct the customer to order through the eBay international shipping program if he is saying that is not an option on the listing I made?

I went to one of your book listings, changed my country to ITALY, and Italy was among the countries in the drop down menu. I did see a shipping price to have the item shipped through the EIS. I suspect your seller wants to save paying the fees to ebay and wants you to ship directly to him in Italy. I would decline the sale.
