International Shipping Label Cost Me 35$ Despite The Label Cost of 21$
Summary: burketrading, who is new to eBay, experienced an issue with an unexpected $35 charge for an international shipping label when the buyer paid $21 for shipping. They sought help to understand the discrepancy, noting that this was unlike any previous experience with international shipping. rfmtm suggested that the $21 is what the buyer contributes to getting the package to the shipping hub, and that further clarification is needed to determine if the extra charge was a back charge or due to incorrect package details.
Hello, I am still somewhat new to ebay, though I have sold many items over the years. I have never before had complications with international orders. For some reason, the International Label Cost withdrew 35$ from my account despite the 21$ cost that the buyer provided for shipping. Ebay will say if a cost is due to the package being bigger than anticipated, etc. This is not the case. This is simply a charge for 35$ for the exact same order that was alleged to be 21$, as the buyer paid for shipping. Can anyone help me understand what I am not seeing in the situation? As even 15$ is a big deal to me in my current situation, and I have used the International Shipping many times without this issue.
Thank you for your time,

Mentor3 weeks ago@burketrading Was this on the Jewelry box? The shipping appears too low. Are you making sure to enter the correct package dimensions in addition to the weight?
Make sure that the system doesn't "fix" the shipping information for you too.
I helped another seller recently that was having problems with eBay changing the dimensions when creating the listing.
This is the solution to that problem, use Seller Hub on a computer>
To access Seller Hub:
1. Go to https://www.ebay.com/sh/landing
2. Click Start Using Seller Hub
3. To create a new listing click on the blue create listing button on the upper right of the Overview page.
Then click on See Pricing Options and turn off Autofill Pricing details. It was changing the sellers shipping dimensions.

Mentor3 weeks agoThe $21., is only the amount buyer pays you towards getting the package to the shipping hub, of which this part may be more less the actual label cost sending to the hub.
To help you further we need to know whether the extra charge was a back charge by the carrier you used to get it to the hub or a charge from EIS for incorrect weight and dimensions after it was received by the hub?
