International shipping hub
Hi,
I have never sold internationally and didn't think I was signed up for it.
The last item I sold was sold to an international buyer and ebay email told me to
ship through the ebay international hub. Is this through the USPS?
I don't understand the virtual tracking number. Do I put that on the envelope and just
take to post office?

Mentor1 year agoYou are not saving money by going to the post office. Printing labels through eBay gets you a discount you will not get at the post office. Also, shipping with a stamp is risky. You have no proof of delivery if a buyer opens a case of item not received and you would have to refund. Your shipping prices indicate otherwise; they show ground advantage. You would not be allowed to ship with a stamp in that case.

Mentor1 year ago@madstar234 You just select get shipping label and pay for shipping to the eBay international forwarding hub in the US.
YOU are not shipping internationally, eBay is. You are enrolled in the eBay International Shipping Program which allows you to reach buyers around the world with ZERO risk to you. You just ship to the US forwarding center in Illinois or CA, the address will be on the label when you print it with a code that ties the sale to you and the buyer.
Once the item reaches the US forwarding location safely your job as a seller is done. If a buyer files a refund request for ANY reason the refund comes from eBay and you keep the sale. I wish that eBay had this awesome of seller protections for domestic sales!

Mentor1 year agoWhy don't you use eBay labels? eBay labels cost less than at the post office. I just noticed that your must recently sold item is a book shipping with Media Mail. Media Mail is the one exception where it is the same price no matter where you buy the label.
HOWEVER it will still be much better and help your package move along quicker if you have the post office print the label for you.
If you don't have a printer select the QR code option. Then you just show the code on your phone at the post office and they print the label for you.

OP1 year agoAh, ok that is a good idea, I will do the QR code! I just usually write on the envelope... to save every penny I guess.
I don't sell alot, is selling internationally worth it?

Mentor1 year ago@madstar234 International selling with the eBay International Shipping Program is TOTALLY worth it. Not saying you'll get a lot of international buyers but why not sell to the world when it's so easy and there's no risk to you? Not trying to sound like an ad but it really is the best thing eBay has done in a long time.
I don't recommend direct shipping to international buyers yourself because then you have to fill out customs forms and worry about import rules etc. eBay handles all of that for you with the EIS program.
