International Shipping Disaster
So this is the first time I have ever shipped internationally and the product is very very expensive.
I did not know I needed an ITN number and eBay did not require me to fill that out, unlike USPS when shipping internationally directly through them.
So I got the package back and I informed the buyer of the problem (This took 3 weeks for me to get it back on a package that was sent express 2-5 day delivery). After informing the Buyer, I let him know I would try to get it back out same day. I was able to figure out how to get an ITN number and ship it back out the very next day.
USPS did not charge me, and because of that, apparently the Tracking information is not updating. I informed the buyer of this after checking on the shipping 5 days later when I realized it still hadn't updated.
I have placed an Inquiry with USPS on the package and a lady called me back today and told me that it's not showing it's in Transit currently on her end but that they may have sent it out via Truck, she also told me that she can't promise the Tracking will Update when it Reaches Customs even if it updates in her System showing it has left the Country.
So I'm kind of freaking out because the Buyer has filed a Package Not Received, and although eBay Customer Service has seen the Receipt showing I shipped it back out the 26th, I am still pretty concerned and stressed out, because there is nothing I can do to stop him from receiving the package and if eBay refunds him, they will have aided him in stealing a package worth thousands of dollars.

OP10 months agoSo the buyer escalated the claim today, turning it over to eBay for a decision. I reached out to them and explained the situation and requested time to get USPS International Inquiry to send me proof it is in transit to the Buyer. They did accept my request and gave me a 10 day extension.

OP10 months agoI will update this post as soon as this situation is resolved so that people in the future will know how eBay handled this situation and so they will know if they should be afraid to ship things Internationally in fear that their merchandise will be stolen or not.
