It seems like I should send the item to an Ebay address.
Anyone know how this process works?
Thank you!
@samslick. This is a direct to the buyer shipment. NOT the eBay international shipping program.
You will be responsible for the package arriving safely and on time to the buyers country.
If the buyer files a return request because the item is somehow not as described then YOU pay return shipping and refund or refund without a return.
YOU do not want to offer direct international shipping if you want the item to ship with the eBay international shipping program. You then will ship to a US address in Illinois or CA ( the address is provided when you select get shipping label) Your job as a seller is done once the item safely reaches the US hub.
You cannot not opt in to the eBay International Shipping Program. eBay will add you to the program when they determine you qualify.
When an International buyer purchases your item you will send the item to the eBay shipping hub assigned to the package and not to the buyer. eBay will take it from there. You receive the shipping charge from the buyer to ship to the shipping hub and the buyer is billed separately for the International shipping and customs fees. You are only responsible for getting the package to the shipping hub and eBay assumes responsibility from there.
Keep in mind that not all items can be shipped to all countries. There are limits regarding value and size of packages along with import requirements that may not allow an item to actually be shipped Internationally.
