International shipment damaged
I just sold my first international order to a buyer in France. The item was a superhero statue, and it was destroyed during shipping. If I understand correctly, with eBay's international shipping, I'm not responsible for refunding him. But my buyer can't figure out how to contact eBay to report they received the item damaged. And I don't know what to tell him to do.

If you shipped via eBay International Shipping, have the buyer open a return request for damage in shipping. EIS will take over and handle the claim.

OP2 weeks agoThanks, that’s how I thought it should work. I’ve tried explaining it to him, but there’s a language barrier (despite the automatic translation). And since I can’t see his screen, I don’t know how to tell him exactly how to navigate opening that return request.

If your buyer was using an account with feedback, they can open the return request here:

If they were using a 'guest account', there are different instructions.

Sometimes with Translation programs it is easier to break down a long explanation into shorter sentences like:
"Go to your Purchase history."
"Request a return."
"Say it was damaged."
