International returns for automotive parts that don't fit
I bought some automotive parts for a classic vehicle from Thailand. I'm in the USA. The compatibility checker tool mentions they were a fit to the vehicle. I ordered, paid the tariffs and received the parts. They didn't fit.
I opened a return request, seller doesn't pay for return shipping and I'd have to ship internationally to return. Opened a case with eBay and they said seller must provide a USA based return address or they would refund the total. They said they were going to reach out to the seller for the address... nothing happened. Clock kept ticking on the return date.
I opened another case, talked to someone on the phone mentioned the parts don't fit, asked about the automotive fit guarantee, and the fact that I never received the USA based address to return. I am happy to return and pay, but international shipping would likely not make it all that worth it.
I still have a case open with ebay, replied a few times. I get the email back saying they will reply within 24-48 hours and twice have not received a response. Not really sure what to do at this point. Been with buying and selling on ebay for nearly 25 years and haven't had this experience.
They don't appear to be honoring the fit guarantee or the shipping address requirement that their own support said was required. What should I do?
