International Returns
An international buyer submitted a return request to eBay on an item I sold them. My listing stipulated I do not accept returns. The eBay policy states:
All eBay International Shipping returns will be processed on your behalf. International legal requirements mean that buyers can return items sent by eBay International Shipping up to 30 days from the date the item is delivered to them, so we automatically apply a 30 day return policy for items shipped with eBay International Shipping.
When a buyer opens a return, we'll refund your buyer and you'll keep the sale. When the return is received at the eBay International Shipping inspection hub, it will be inspected to make sure it's in the same condition. We'll then issue the refund to the buyer's original payment method, usually within 5 to 7 business days of the item being received at the hub. Returned items and items that couldn't be delivered to the buyer may not be returned to you.
What I need to know to inform the buyer is that he should follow the instructions eBay provided (if I had the instructions eBay sent him that would be great.
Does anyone have that language?

Mentor10 months ago@bjoanie Those are the instructions. The buyer just files a return request. eBay will handle the return/ refund.
You keep the $ from the sale.
Keep in mind that your no return policy does not mean no refunds. The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules your return policy which is only for buyers remorse returns such as changed mind, doesn't fit, etc.

OP10 months ago@comics-scifi-collectibles Do you know if the buyer has to pay for return shipping to the international hub?
The buyer I'm dealing with is in the UK and originally asked if I would pay for the return shipping.

Mentor10 months ago@bjoanie. EBay will pay return shipping if the buyer says that the item is somehow not as described.
EBay may refund without a return or pay return shipping and then refund. The item goes to the eBay hub and they sell the item to a wholesaler to recoop some of their money.

OP10 months ago@comics-scifi-collectibles The buyer informed me that the ornament arrived very cold and that the batteries included with the ornament didn't work and that when he tried batteries he had still didn't work, he feels the ornament is defective. He sent pictures of what he thought was corrosion, but I didn't see any corrosion. When the ornament left me there was no corrosion and it worked fine.
Do you know if sending electronic component items overseas have this problem often or is this just unusual?
