international offer, where i only offered free shipping stateside
How do I resolve an offer that came from an international location (Brazil), when my listing offered free shipping, but only free shipping to any US State? I have no experience with international shipping. Is there a way to hve eBay do the calculation and do the shipping, but know that information before I respond to the offer?

Your item is set up to ship worldwide via the international shipping program. You ship to a US shipping hub and eBay takes it from there.
If the buyer is not seeing a cost to ship to his country, then the item is not eligible for import to his location. Many countries do not allow import of vintage toys since they do not meet current safety standards.
There is a cost showing to ship to Brazil of $145 plus he will have to pay import taxes.

OP3 months agoif so, then is it automatic that eBay international picks up the problem of the international shipping and customs? In other words, my free shipping offer works only to get it to their hub? Or do I need to turn off the ability of people to buy internationally. If I had let eBay figure the shipping cost from the get go I can see how it works. But with my free shipping offer, only qualified in my description, am I shielded from extraordinary shipping costs internationally. Thanks for you help.

You are only responsible for the package getting to the US hub. The international shipping folks take it from there.
The international buyer sees the cost to ship to their location - eBay collects that from the buyer as well as any shipping cost that you put in your listing for the domestic delivery (in this case 0 since you are offering free domestic shipping). You do not have to worry about the international portion.
Anything you write about shipping in your description is overridden by your selected shipping settings.
