International buyer unable to complete transaction
Summary: pkjud is facing an issue with a UK buyer who is unable to complete a transaction for a plush puppet despite having eBay International Shipping set up. lisa5768 suggests that the problem might be due to the UK's strict import rules on plush toys, which may not be allowed entry, potentially explaining the checkout issue. pkjud appreciates the insight provided.
Hello,
I am in the US and have a potential buyer from the UK. The item is a stuffed plush puppet so nothing restricted or anything like that. They messaged asking if I ship to the UK. I am enrolled the ship internationally through with the eBay International Shipping option where I ship to the domestic hub and eBay takes it from that point to my buyer. I just shipped an item to the UK last week with no issues. The potential buyer sent me a message saying that when they go to checkout it pops up and says that I do not ship to the UK. I've gone into all of my settings and I have eBay international shipping set as default with no restriction. I do have restrictions as far as me personally shipping on my own internationally. I just would prefer to let eBay handle it. Any idea what could be the issue with this particular transaction? It is throwing me off that I just shipped to the UK and that buyer had no issues. Thank you

It is not likely it is an issue with your listing or account. The plush toy may not be eligible to ship to the UK. They have very strict rules for plush toys being imported and most are not permitted. If you were to ship on your own it will likely be stopped and destroyed by UK customs.
