informing ebay of my bank account

Question

I need to update my information to eBay as I just began selling items again today for the first time in five years. eBay tells me that they must perform a microdeposit and withdrawal into my bank account. However, I cannot determine whether or not eBay has my bank account number. How do I either verify this or provide my account number if necessary?

@micev_41 This is my general getting started selling on eBay document. It has important information about setting up a seller account with managed payments. eBay will not be able to verify your checking account until the information is provided AND it matches your registered name and address on your account exactly.

If you are located in the US you will need to use a US brick and mortar checking account, not a virtual one. And provide a SS # or ITIN#.

You should be prompted to enter your checking account information AFTER you try to submit your first listing. The listing will stay in draft format until you complete this step. If you are using a cellphone turn it to landscape to see the link to register.

If you are not prompted to add your checking account then skip to #3 and contact eBay customer service.

A few additional tips:

#1 Your registered name and address on your eBay account must match your checking account and government ID exactly. You can not use a PO box for your registration but you can use it for your ship from and to addresses.I had to add my middle name to my eBay account.

John B Doe is not the same as John Brian Doe.

AND Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs.

#3 If you have any problems with registration here's how to contact eBay customer service.

Scroll to the bottom of the linked page, click the "Contact us" option, type "agent" into the popup chat box, and choose your contact method.
