Inflated shipping
if a seller charges $4.90 to ship an item and then actually spends $.74 cents, is this allowed? I asked the seller and this was their response;
Me: It looks like I will probably receive this coin today as per an email from USPS. I can see on this email that the actual shipping was $.74, but you charge $4.90. Why is that? It's as if you are profiting from shipping costs. Just curious.
Seller: when in Auction with $1 start I have no way to add fixed overhead costs which run 25%+ of gross sales plus actual shipping. The coin is worth well over $20 and ship costs would have been 4.90below $20 I can use Ebay economy rateI lost $15.00 on your win.If a problem I'll refund you the 4.16

Mentor7 months agoThe seller has offered to refund $4.16, so I would take him up on it. The seller was referring to the ebay Standard Envelope for items in specific categories that sell for under $20
