Incorrect item sold

I recently purchased an item that was incorrectly advertised, when i questioned the seller they initially said they couldn't help, i filed a claim with eBay and paypal, but eBay dismissed my claim using AI, after which i received an email from eBay stating that they will look into it because i filed the PayPal claim. The seller wants me the send back the item at my own expense before i can get my refund, the problem i have with this is that i paid for the shipping initially, plus the item is leaving the US and in this case i will be paying duty and tax to get the item, the cost to ship the item back to eBay will work out to be a lot more than the cost of the item. How can i deal with this especially since i can't get anyone from eBay to speak with.

Mentor3 weeks agoYour registration shows you are located in the USA. Did you use a freight forwarder to have the item sent to your international location? If you file a returns request, the seller provides a prepaid shipping label that requires the item to be shipped from the freight forwarder, so it is up to you to ship that item to the freight forwarder. If you did not use a freight forwarder, please give us the details of how the item is not currently located in the USA, so we can give a more accurate solution.

OP3 weeks agoThe address in the US is a freight forwarder but why should I pay for the shipping when the item sent was in correct in the first place, all of this could have been avoided if what was advertised was done correctly
