Incorrect ebay postage label

Question

For a recent sale, ebay issued a postage label for , what I now know was, an insufficient amount (£2.85), that was much less than i had stipulated in the auction and my buyer paid. (£5.55). I printed the label ebay sent me and placed it on the parcel as usual, only to discover the error at the Post Office counter - where they were not able to cancel the wrong label or add extra funds.

So i had to cancel the whole transaction to make sure he byuer and I were not out of pocket.

Problem now - ebay want me to pay for postage that never happened, on a cancelled transaction, caused by their own incorrect postage label.

Has anyone got experience or a solution?
