Incorrect amount charged
Hello! I have sold my first item, but I am having a problem. Don’t know what to do. Customer had been charged full price and I had offered a different amount, $25 less than original price. Customer is asking for her refund right away, to not contact EBay. I am supposed to mail them tomorrow, but I can’t now. Please help on how to proceed with this matter. Thank you !

Congrats on your first sale, this actually happens pretty often so don’t worry.
The main thing is do not handle this outside of eBay.
If the buyer paid full price, it usually means the discounted offer was not accepted through eBay or it expired, so the system charged the original amount.
Here’s what you should do:
Do not ship the item yet
Go to the order and choose “Send refund”
Refund the $25 difference
Then message the buyer through eBay to confirm
This is the safest way because everything stays documented and you remain protected as a seller.
Also, if the buyer is asking you not to contact eBay, that’s not a good sign. Always keep everything inside eBay messages and payments.
You can send them something like this:
Hi! Thank you for your purchase. I’ve issued a partial refund of $25 to match the agreed price. Please confirm once received and I’ll ship your item right away. Thank you!
Another option would be to cancel the order and have the buyer repurchase at the correct price, but partial refund is usually quicker and smoother.
