INAD refund of original shipping cost?
I sold a handbag that I purchased at auction and believed to be authentic. I did not state in my listing that it was authentic nor did I have it authenticated by eBay or an independent party. Purchaser claims the serial number doesn’t match with the manufacturers number for this item, and submitted an INAD refund request.
I sent a return shipping label (at my cost) to the purchaser. They want to know if I’m also going to refund original shipping cost.
Am I required to refund this, also?

Mentor2 years ago@cathdavi42 yes, if the item sent did not match the listing
btw, it is not allowed on ebay to list unauthentic/counterfeit items

OP2 years agoThank you. Obviously, I didn’t intend to list an inauthentic item: I assumed it WAS authentic when I purchased it. Never even thought to have authenticity confirmed. But point taken. I will refund original shipping, and tough lesson learned. 😕
